Mrs. Rebecca Dietrich was fatally burned on Monday morning about 10. She was burning trash in the yard when her clothing became ignited. Mrs. Isaacs saw her and called Parke Spencer and Brent Scott, who extinguished the flames, but not until almost the entire surface of the body was burned. She was taken to the home of her son, Elmer, where she died at two on Tuesday morning after great suffering. Funeral services were held at the home on Wednesday afternoon. Rev. JT Boyer in charge. The following Biography was read:

Rebecca C. Dietrich, daughter of John & Eliza Miller was born in Lykens, Pa. Feb 12, 1839 and departed this life May 2, 1922 age 83 years 2 months and 20 days. She was united in marriage to John l. Dietrich April 17, 1859; and to this union were born 6 children, the eldest dying in infancy, leaving 3 sons, Harry, Elmer and William. She is survived by one son, Elmer; two granddaughters, Mrs. FR Fulwider and Mrs. Arnold Greve; two grandsons, Carson and John Dietrich; and 3 great grandchildren, Eleanor, Paul & Joann Fulwider. Mrs. Dietrich came to Indiana when quite young and has spent nearly her entire life in this community, and she has ever been a highly respected and honored citizen, drawing to herself a host of friends, and by these she was familiarly called, "Grandma." - kbz
